The LSCB's 'Post-it'/'Share-it' Scheme

Local Safeguarding Children Board Logo

The Post-it/Share-it scheme can be used to tell the LSCB about good practice, and also allows people to share concerns about poor practice.

The purpose of the  'POST IT'/ 'SHARE IT' scheme is to make Conwy and Denbighshire's Local Safeguarding children Board more relevant and accessible to front-line practitioners. Any person in any agency can 'POST IT' to the LSCB signed or unsigned. It can tell the LSCB of examples of good multi-agency practice which can then be commended. It may also be used to inform the LSCB about concerns around services or practice which the worker feels are not being addressed. A potentially important use of the 'POST IT' is that it provides an opportunity to bring concerns to the LSCB which are not being addressed (or have been suppressed) by practitioners' immediate line managers.

One of the major criticisms coming out of the Waterhouse Inquiry was that staff had no avenue open to them if their concern or complaint was not dealt with appropriately by their line manager. This 'POST IT' provides a mechanism which prevents the suppression of whistleblowers.

Conwy and Denbighshire LSCB will have 'POST IT's as a standing item on their agenda. 'POST IT's can be sent to the Business Manager of the LSCB and if they need urgent action this will be attended to immediately. Other issues can usually wait until the LSCB meet. Even where the issue has been dealt with, the 'POST IT' will still be put before the LSCB.

If you prefer, your Post it/Share it can be sent to the Child Protection co-ordinator (Conwy) or Safeguarding Manager (Denbighshire) or the Chair of the LSCB.
