Pupils from Ysgol Dolwyddelan, Ysgol Penmachno and Ysgol Ysbyty Ifan will be working with Environmental Artist, Tim Pugh to produce work for an exhibition at the RCA.
From September 13th_15th Tim will be working with pupils from Ysgol Dolwyddelan, Ysgol Penmachno and Ysgol Ysbyty Ifan. Using Tim’s own work as examples, the pupils will look at materials, colours and textures. In the morning, they will produce design sheets. Weather permitting, in the afternoon, they will work outside to create their own two or three dimensional Environmental Art Sculptures using natural materials. Tim is currently working predominantly with slate, a material found locally in the area around these three schools.
From the pupils’ design sheets and photos of the sculptures, members of the Royal Cambrian Academy will select work for display in conjunction with Tim’s exhibition. On Friday 22 October pupils will travel to the Royal Cambrian Academy to see the exhibition and to contribute to an installation in the gallery. The exhibition opens to the public on 23rd October and will be on display until 21st November.
The project has been financially supported by the Arts Council of Wales.
