IMPORTANT NOTICE
From Monday 4th April 2005, Conwy Archive Service will be joining the County Archive Research Network (C.A.R.N). This is a national scheme that has been operating since 1987 in the majority of County Record Offices throughout England and Wales, in order to safeguard the preservation and safe use of our archival heritage. From this date, anyone wishing to study original documents will require a valid Readers' Ticket, which can be obtained from any of the participating Record Offices.
If you do not already hold a C.A.R.N. ticket, you will be asked to complete a simple registration form and to provide official proof of identity. This should show your name and address, e.g. a driving licence; or a bankcard and an official communication that gives your address, such as a utility bill. Your ticket must then be shown when you request the production of an original document or photograph.
Lost or stolen tickets should be reported promptly to any Record Office in the network. Tickets are not transferable.
