Council Owned Buildings

Summary (optional)

The council currently has nearly 300 properties under its ownership. The property portfolio varies from your well known corporate buildings such as Bodlondeb in Conwy and the Civic Centre in Colwyn Bay to Venue Cymru, Libraries and Leisure Centres. It also owns the majority of Secondary and Primary Schools within the county.

Ensuring that all these buildings are kept in a good state of repair is a major and critical task. Most of the buildings are either used by staff and/or members of the public. The health, safety and welfare of whoever occupies or visits the buildings is our priority.

Building Inspectors within the Flood Risk and Infrastructure Group are responsible for carrying out inspections to assess the condition of all Conwy County Borough Council owned property. These are carried on a 1, 3 or 5 year cycle depending on the type and use of each building.

For further information about building inspections please contact us.
