You can search our online catalogue, and reserve titles. You can also specify which library you want to collect your titles from.
Use your library card number (omitting the GWP) and the 4 digit PIN issued with it to manage your account, renew and reserve items.
Finding and reserving online
To find a title you can either do a quick search or an advanced search.
When you visit the catalogue home page you can perform a simple, quick search to look for the title and/or the author, or topic. You have the option to limit your search by format or location before you start e.g. to search for items held in Conwy Libraries only, using the drop down menu:
Alternatively, you can search the whole of the catalogue and then narrow your search results down to a specific location, language, author, or format (e.g. DVD) by clicking on the ‘Limit Search Results’ options on the left.
An advanced search allows you to achieve a more targeted search from the beginning by including options to specify e.g. format, subject, language, or location, in addition to author and title information.
We don’t charge for reservations, unless you’re making an interlibrary loan, this can be arranged at your local library. To reserve an item select ‘Place Hold’ from the drop-down menu on the right. Once you have logged in to your account you can specify which library you wish to collect the item from.
When your reservation is ready we’ll email or phone you, depending on whether your email address was provided when you created your library account.
You may wish to create a list of items found to reserve in future. A ‘temporary list’ can be used while searching the catalogue, however in order to access your list at a later date you will need to login to your account to permanently save the list.
Renewing books, audiobooks, and DVDs
Login to your account to renew books online. You can also call or email your nearest library.
You can renew a book up to five times unless it is reserved by someone else.
Any overdue charges or new hire charges (e.g. for DVDs) will be logged to your account up to a given credit limit, for payment when you are next in the library.
