If you want to look at the Local Land Charges Register yourself and you do not need to obtain an official search certificate you may carry out a personal search. This allows you to come to our office and inspect the Council's Local Land Charges Resister only.

You should contact the Office to give advance notice that you wish to make a personal search, and you will need to provide the address and details of the property/land concerned and a plan.  The Local Land Charges Register may be inspected on Monday to Friday mornings. You must make an appointment, and the first appointment starts at 10.15am. The last appointment of the morning is at 11.30am.

This facility allows you to obtain the information set out in the Local Land Charges Register only, and will not give the additional information, which is normally provided in response to the CON29 enquiries form. If you wish to inspect records which are open for public inspection you will need to contact the appropriate department of the Council to do so and there will be a charge payable.

If you are unsure as to what you require you should seek advice from the solicitor assisting with the property transaction. The Local Authority staff will not be able to assist you in completing the application forms nor will they be able to sign the search.

This is not a Full Local Authority Land Charges search and therefore bears no official Council signature.
