- Carers can be of any age and do not have to live with the person they care for.
- Many carers are relatives, friends or neighbours of the people they care for and may not think of themselves as a carer but may have been looking after someone for a long time. Becoming a carer can be rewarding but at times may also feel overwhelming and demanding but there is support available.
- Carers may be entitled to get support from Conwy County Borough Council and other organisations.
The role of the Carers Champions is to maintain and strengthen the profile of the subject of Carers within Conwy County Borough Council, to support the implementation of the Conwy Carers Strategy and to promote Carers within the Council’s corporate and service priorities to secure proper recognition of Carers.
