Child Car Seat Safety

  • Check your child’s car seats on every trip
  • Make sure the belt is clicked into the buckle on every trip
  • Make sure the straps are properly adjusted on every trip
  • Make sure you and your passengers wear a seat belt on every trip

Conwy County Borough Council’s Road Safety Officer, Julie Birchall said “More accidents occur on short journeys than you realise. Every year, we find a large number of baby car seats are not fitted correctly, which is a worry. Just for peace of mind, I’d urge everyone to get their baby car seats checked and make sure older children are sitting on the appropriate car seats for their height and weight.”

Conwy’s Road Safety Team will be out and about again this summer offering child car seat checks and giving out road safety information and advice.
