Conwy County Borough Council in collaboration with BBC Wales will bring a feast of live music to the town’s Stadiwm ZipWorld as part of the UK-wide celebration of the Last Night of the Proms 2018.
This annual outdoor event first came to Conwy County in 2016, attracting thousands of people. Attendees are welcome to bring their own picnics and flags to this family occasion and enjoy an evening of music, fireworks and fun.
The BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales will once again appear at Stadiwm Zipworld on Saturday 8 September 2018. This year’s special guests are yet to be announced, but in 2016 we saw Tony Hadley, Wales-based Grammy award-winning Amy Wadge, and Welsh tenor Wynne Evans.
Councillor Louise Emery, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for the Economy said: “We’re thrilled to welcome BBC Proms in the Park back to Colwyn Bay and I’m excited to see yet another major event secured at Stadiwm ZipWorld. Events are extremely important to Conwy County as they provide significant economic value for our many small businesses. Partnerships with the BBC help create the right environment for world class events such as BBC Proms. Those who attended Proms back in 2016 will need no encouragement to come along, but I urge those who haven’t experienced this fantastic event to join us, as you won’t be disappointed.”
Tickets go on sale Saturday 12 May 2018 and will be available from Venue Cymru, Llandudno www.venuecymru.co.uk or 01492 872000 and more information is available on www.bbc.co.uk/promsinthepark.
