Fostering
Children who are 'looked after' are mainly cared for by foster carers. Research and our experience show us that the best place for most of these children to be cared for is in a foster family.

Foster carers come from all different walks of life. Our first considerations are that you can offer a child a safe and secure environment and can understand some of their feelings and worries.

The first step is to contact Conwy's Fostering Team who will send you a booklet on the different types of fostering available and offer more detailed information.

As you would expect, potential foster carers go through a number of background checks including enquiries of the Criminal Records Bureau, Probation, NSPCC, police, health and education.

We are committed to supporting our foster carers as much as possible and offer a range of support networks in order that carers receive the help they need to foster with confidence.
