Local Biodiversity Action Plan
Conwy County Borough Council has adopted and is co-ordinating a Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) in order to protect wildlife in the local area by forming partnerships with other organisations who care about the environment and by seeking the involvement of communities.
The Conwy LBAP is steered by the Conwy Rural Partnership which includes representatives from conservation groups, statutory environmental agencies, local landowners, and commercial interests, , as well as from Conwy County Borough Council. In addition to this, a specialist group, the Conwy Biodiversity Working Group (CBWG) has been established. Made up of local experts from a range of organisations, as well as local enthusiasts, the CBWG's task is to write the Habitat Action Plans (HAPs), Species Action Plans (SAPs) and Topic Action Plans (TAPs) to be included in the Local Biodiversity Action Plan.
Please help in this process by passing on your knowledge of local species and habitats to the CBWG, which will help to implement the actions within the LBAP.
Maintaining and enhancing biodiversity in Conwy County Borough is a long-term process and requires the commitment, dedication and hard work of all the partners involved. Only by working together can the biodiversity of Conwy County Borough be protected for the future.
