We provide a range of recycling and waste services, including recycling and refuse collections, on-street recycling banks, garden waste collections, reuse and recycling centres, and special and bulky collections.

The unauthorised dumping of waste (fly-tipping) is both illegal and dangerous. Waste includes: general household waste; larger domestic items including fridges and mattresses; garden refuse; tyres and clinical waste; builders rubble and commercial waste.

Waste is hazardous when it contains substances or has properties that might be harmful to human health or the environment. It includes items such as acid, asbestos, chemicals, drug related items (including needles or "sharps"), fluorescent tubes, oil, paint and weed killer.

Conwy County Borough residents can use two household waste recycling centres to recycle or dispose of household rubbish. These are at Bron-y-Nant Road, Mochdre and Old Gofer Site, Abergele, and are open to the public 7 days a week.

We offer a door-step recycling service, collecting paper, cans, glass and garden waste. You can also use recycling banks located around the County Borough, or our managed Household Recycling Centres in Mochdre and Abergele.

There are almost 60 Bring Bank Sites sites around the County Borough allowing the public to recycle more of their waste, such as paper, glass, tins, cans, plastic, shoes & clothes and books & music.

The Council is responsible for sweeping 1800km of roads throughout the County Borough, but how often your street is cleaned will depend on a number of things.

Waste collection and disposal 01/11/2006

We provide a weekly refuse collection service for every home, we replace stolen or damaged bins, and we can arrange to make assisted collections. We also have separate 'on-request' special and bulky collection services for items like fridges and household furniture.
