Conwy Local Development Plan (Draft)

Following consultation on the Deposit Local Development Plan between April and July 2009, the Council has published a Representations Report which is a summary of the comments received.

Consultation on the Deposit Conwy Local Development Plan closed on 3rd July. All representations received are now being inputted into our database. Once complete, acknowledgement receipts will be sent out. A representations report will be made available on file at main Council offices and at Council libraries, as well as on the LDP website.

The first stage in preparing the plan is to review the existing information from the evidence base and then gather further evidence where necessary.

The Delivery Agreement shows who will be involved in preparing the Local Development Plan (LDP) and the timetable for the different stages.

The Council consulted on a Preferred Strategy for its Local Development Plan from 11th October to 6th December 2006. The consultation period has now closed.

The deposit plan needs to be independently assessed to see whether it is sound.

The Inspector will assess the deposit plan on the basis of soundness and decide whether changes to the Local Development Plan (LDP) are needed.

Once adopted, the Local Development Plan (LDP) becomes the single land use plan for Conwy (outside the Snowdonia National Park) up to the year 2022.

The Local Development Plan (LDP) needs to be monitored to ensure that it remains relevant to Conwy and to assess whether it requires any changes.
