Local Biodiversity Action Plan
Conwy County Borough Council has adopted and is co-ordinating a Local Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP) in order to protect wildlife in the local area by forming partnerships with other organisations who care about the environment and by seeking the involvement of communities.
The Conwy LBAP is steered by the Conwy Rural Partnership which includes representatives from conservation groups, statutory environmental agencies, local landowners and commercial interests, as well as Conwy County Borough Council.
The LBAP contains action plans for the habitats and species of Conwy which are rare or threatened. These action plans have been written by local experts from a range of organisations, as well as local enthusiasts. Since the plan was published, many actions have been carried out and many are still ongoing. The Plan will be reviewed and updated later in 2009/2010.
Maintaining and enhancing biodiversity in Conwy County Borough is a long-term process and requires the commitment, dedication and hard work of all the partners involved. Only by working together can the biodiversity of Conwy County Borough be protected for the future.
