Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit Take-Up Campaign 28/06/2010

The Revenues and Benefits Assessment Service is currently running a Benefit Take-Up Campaign. We hope to raise awareness of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, and Second Adult Rebate. As part of our campaign, we will try to identify those residents who are not claiming the benefits they are entitled to and to assist them with the claims process.

If you are worried by the credit crunch, the Council and other organisations can offer a number of services to help local residents and businesses. If you are struggling, it is advisable to seek the advice and help you need as soon as possible because ignoring problems will only make them worse.


Council Tax

Council Tax

Council Tax is a tax set by Local Authorities (it applies to all domestic properties) in order to meet their budget requirements. Council Tax helps pay for local services like education, social services, policing, rubbish collection, leisure centres and much more.

The Welsh Assembly has introduced smoke free legislation in Wales. The new Law comes into effect on April 2nd 2007 and applies to all public premises.

The Council's Registration Service deals with the registration of birth, marriage and death. In addition, to help you celebrate other special occasions in your life we also offer naming ceremonies, renewal of vows, citizenship ceremonies, civil partnership ceremonies and family history research.

Consumer Direct is a telephone and online consumer advice service, supported by the Office of Fair Trading. It provides clear, practical, impartial advice to help you sort out problems and disagreements you may be having with suppliers of goods or services.
