Child protection is about protecting children and keeping them safe from harm and neglect.

What to do if I am concerned about a child's safety or welfare?

Child protection is the concern of everyone living in Conwy. If you have concerns that a child is being abused or neglected, or that they may be at risk of harm, you should contact:

Children may be abused in a family or in an institutional or community setting, people they know or, more rarely, by a stranger.


What is child abuse? 29/10/2007

Somebody may abuse or neglect a child by inflicting harm, or by failing to act to prevent harm. Children may be abused in a family or in an institutional setting, by those known to them, or more rarely, by a stranger. A child or young person up to the age of 18 can suffer abuse or neglect and require protection via an inter-agency Child Protection Plan.
