What happens to the Planning applications once they've been submitted?

When you submit an application we register it, assess it, consult other organisations (like the Environment Agency) and the public and then make a decision. This section gives you more information about each of these stages.

The Planning Committee makes decisions about major or controversial applications.

Decisions about straightforward planning applications are made by the Head of the Planning Service, under the Council's scheme of delegation.

Appeals process - Planning decisions

If your application is refused you have a right of appeal. This must be done within six months of the decision date (two months in the case of advertisements) and means that the matter will be decided by the Welsh Assembly Government or one of its Inspectors.
