Careers / Job Fairs

Due to budget constraints, we were unable to bring the Conwy Job Expo back to the Barn in 2025. However, we remained committed to connecting employers with job seekers and continued to run smaller monthly job fairs in partnership with DWP. These events alternated between St George’s Hotel in Llandudno and the Colwyn Bay Community Hwb and proved highly successful - each month welcoming around 20 employers and over 60 job seekers.

Recognising the importance of the Expo, especially at the start of the year when many are keen to launch their careers, we looked for a way to bridge the gap. We were thrilled to secure the Wedgewood Suite at St George’s Hotel, which allowed us to host a large-scale job fair featuring more than 50 actively recruiting employers. The event drew an incredible 290 job seekers and highlighted the strong demand for a county-wide jobs event - so we’re pleased to say it will return in 2026!

We also took part in two job fairs organised by Working Denbighshire at 1891 Restaurant and Bar in Rhyl, held in September 2024 and February 2025. These well-attended events gave us the opportunity to network with our counterparts in Denbighshire and connect with job seekers living near the county border.

In October 2024, we were part of Future Booster, a youth engagement and progression event organised by Conwy County Borough Council’s Youth Service Team. Aimed at 15–24-year-olds, it brought together a wide range of advice and services covering jobs, careers, training, and skills. It was a busy and productive day where we engaged with 40 young people, many of whom signed up for our training courses and support to help them move into employment.
