Proposals for Corporate Plan Priorities 2020-21

Each year we ask you if the Council’s well-being priorities are still appropriate.  We do this to ensure that we reflect your community’s needs; to adapt to new Welsh Government policy developments; and to take into account Welsh Government’s budget so that we can set and maintain a balanced budget.

This is important because a lot of the national policy changes aren’t fully funded, for example the increase in cost of the National Living Wage, and National pay award for teachers and non teaching staff.

There are also additional demand pressures for social care (both children and the elderly) and homeless services, alongside general inflation, which also increases the financial pressures.

Despite these ongoing challenges, we achieve a great deal to support communities - you can find out more in our annual reports.

All of our priorities can be found in the Corporate Plan 2017-22 or the Summary Plan 2017-2022
