Conwy’s Carbon Management Strategy 2019-2024 sets out our commitment to managing the carbon emissions our activities produce, to reduce the negative impact on the natural environment and protect it for future generations.

Strategy Vision:

Our vision is to limit our negative impact on the environment and finite resources and work towards becoming a carbon neutral Council.

Principles:

The Strategy is based on’ 5 Principles which we will adopt in all that we do:

Principle 1 - We will monitor and reduce our energy and water consumption.

Principle 2 - We will manage waste and resources sustainably.

Principle 3 - We will operate a low carbon fleet and limit our business travel.

Principle 4 - We will conduct our business from energy efficient buildings.

Principle 5 - We will develop a low carbon culture in our organisation.


Carbon management is embedded throughout the activities of the Council, so this Strategy has links with many other corporate strategies, policies, plans and national legislation.  You can view and download the Strategy document here:
