Essential Website Maintenance – Thursday 9th January 2020

We will be carrying out essential website maintenance in the afternoon which will affect some functionality. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience the work may cause and will do all we can to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.

Understanding SEN in Early Years Provision & Impact of Neglect and Early Trauma

Summary (optional)
It can be very difficult for children who have experienced early trauma to engage in learning and feel safe enough to trust the adults around them. Their needs having been consistently unmet can impact their physical, emotional, cognitive and social development. With brains stuck in fear and survival mode, the behaviours they present to manage their stress such as impulsivity, anger, spacing out, disruptive and distressed behaviours can lead to responses that escalate behaviour.
