The Home Improvement Loan scheme has been developed as a way of providing finance to private homeowners including landlords of tenanted properties for home improvements.
Home improvements funded through the scheme will contribute to making the property ‘Warm, Safe and/or Secure’.
The minimum loan amount is £1,000 up to a maximum of £25,000 per unit. All loans are secured as first or second charge against the land registry title.
The loan is interest free however, an administration charge will be applied up to the value of £500. This fee may be paid upfront or added to the loan applied for.
The scheme is targeted at people who meet the scheme’s affordability criteria and who may be restricted from accessing other sources of finance.
