The reserve path is currently closed due to storm damage and river erosion.
There is no access through the reserve between the Newry Drive entrance and the Three Streams car park.
We have looked at possible temporary alternatives to provide access to the site but these are not viable.
This means the reserve path will stay closed until we can carry out full repairs.
We apologise for this inconvenience.
Main footpath
Our Flood Risk Team is working on the structural design and applying for a river work permit from Natural Resources Wales. As this is a main river, we are not permitted to do work between October and May because of fish spawning. The new path scheme is scheduled for summer 2021.
Stepping stones
Some of the stepping stones are missing because boulders were dislodged during Storm Francis (end of August 2020). We’re working to reinstate these crossings so there will be access into the site as far as the pond.
