What is it?
The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest free reading for pleasure event for children. It is run by the national charity The Reading Agency in partnership with the UK public library network
This year’s Summer Reading Challenge starts on Saturday 13 July and is celebrating the 20th anniversary. Nationally last year nearly 700 thousand children took part in the challenge, boosting their reading confidence and discovering new worlds and fascinating characters.
Over 1,700 children in Conwy joined the challenge in 2018.
Why not bring your family along to the library this summer? There are prizes to collect at every stage, including a Space Chase Collector card, glow in the dark wristband and medal and certificate to show you have completed the challenge.
Comments from last year:
“We’ve loved doing this year’s challenge and making mischief”.
“Roedd fy mab pump oed yn crio eisiau dod i nôl sticeri, Dennis bob tro”.
“Love it. Love libraries. Thank you”.
