Awel y Mor wind turbine proposals

Summary (optional)
start content

A pre-application consultation for a proposed windfarm off the North Wales Coast has been published and this will comprise an array of offshore Wind Turbine Generators with an overall capacity of over 100 Megawatts (MW).

This form of development constitutes a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) under Section 15(3) of the Planning Act 2008 and the Development Consent Order will be considered by the Planning Inspectorate.

This current consultation seeks to inform consultees about the proposals and the likely effects associated with the construction, operation, maintenance and decommissioning phases of the project.

This consultation can be viewed on the link below and includes photomontages of key coastal viewpoints which can also be found in Volume 6 of the Preliminary Environmental Impact Report (PEIR).

As Conwy CBC is only a consultee in this process and will not be dealing with the application any comments on these proposals should be sent to: awelymor@rwe.com

The consultation expires on 11th October, 2021.
