Compost is temporarily not available at the Mochdre recycling centre

Visits to the Household Recycling Centres are by appointment only.  Please book your appointment here.

Residents can collect free compost when you visit out Household Recycling Centres. The compost is made from our garden waste collection service.

Please bring your own bags and shovel. You can fill and take two 40 litre bags at a time. (Bags should not weigh more than 20kg when full.)

  • Compost is available on a first come, first served basis
  • Space constraints and high demand mean there is a limited supply of compost
  • We are refilling stock levels at the sites regularly, but there may be times when supplies are low or not available

To avoid wasted journeys, compost is available to residents who are already visiting the centres to recycle waste, but we don’t offer appointments just to collect compost.

You will need to book an appointment to visit the centre. This manages traffic flow and vehicle numbers, and means you won’t have a long wait.
