This course is aimed at those working or volunteering with children, young people and/or adults at risk, who have previously attended All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness 1 day Training.

Attendance on this course is required every 2-3 years, depending on job role.

Course aims and objectives:

This training will give the opportunity for participants to reinforce, reflect and update previous learning in relation to:

  • own role in relation to safeguarding adults, children and young people from harm, abuse and neglect
  • how individuals are protected from harm, abuse and neglect
  • how to recognise different types of harm, abuse and neglect
  • changes to safeguarding as a result of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and Wales Safeguarding Procedures
  • safeguarding trends and best practice, locally, regionally and nationally
