This course is for those working or volunteering with children, young people and/or adults at risk, who have not previously attended All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness Training.
Attendance on this course is required within 3 months of starting in post.

Course aims and objectives:
This training will give the opportunity for participants to:
- know own role in relation to safeguarding adults, children and young people from harm, abuse and neglect
- understand how individuals are protected from harm, abuse and neglect
- know how to recognise different types of harm, abuse and neglect
- know the recent changes to safeguarding as a result of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and Wales Safeguarding Procedures
