Call for Affordable Housing Sites
Conwy County Borough Council is looking for sites suitable for affordable housing.
The Council is currently in the process of reviewing the Local Development Plan (LDP).
Once the replacement LDP is adopted it will be used to guide developments within the County until 2033.
Part of this work is to ensure that we contribute towards delivering the affordable housing need in the county.
To meet this need, the Council is making a 'call for sites' and is inviting landowners, developers and registered social landlords to submit suitable sites for consideration.
They are invited to submit sites where at least 50% of the housing will be affordable (social rented and/or intermediate). All sites will be subject to assessment to identify issues such as flood risk, access and biodiversity.
Cllr Emily Owen, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regulatory, said, “It’s no secret that suitable, affordable housing is in short supply. It’s a Council priority to increase supply and meet local needs through our planning process. I would encourage landowners, Registered Social Landlords and developers to consider community shortfalls and submit sites for consideration in our replacement LDP.”
