Conwy supports safeguarding awareness

It’s National Safeguarding Week, with organisations across Wales working to raise the profile of this important national issue.

Conwy County Borough Council is supporting the event and is spreading the word amongst staff and councillors across all services to make sure everyone is aware of the signs of a safeguarding issue, their duty to report concerns, and how to report a concern.

As part of Conwy’s work on this important issue, the Council has extended its events to a fortnight of seminars and training.

Councillor Liz Roberts, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Safeguarding said, “Everyone has a role to play in safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. These two weeks are an opportunity for us all to come together to raise awareness of important safeguarding issues.”
