Council announces new stadium sponsor

Conwy County Borough Council is pleased to announce that it has signed CSM Services Group as the new commercial partner for the stadium at Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay.

The stadium, which over the last 10 years has become a destination for major music events, as well as hosting outstanding sporting fixtures such as Under 20’s Internationals, RGC matches and more recently North Wales Crusaders, will be officially known as Stadiwm CSM.

Council Leader, Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, said: “We’re delighted to secure this partnership, especially after a very tough few years for outdoor music and sporting fixtures.

“It’s essential that local authorities explore all avenues to make sure we get the best from our resources.  Sponsorship opportunities are one of the options available, and this collaboration will contribute to the longer term sustainability of our excellent stadium and help to ensure its continuing success.”

The 3-year deal has been struck following a market testing exercise last year. And key to building on the stadium’s success is having a business partnership that can support the Council’s ongoing aspirations for the stadium.

Spencer Martin, Managing Director of CSM Services Group, said: “We’re excited to become the stadium sponsor, as CSM has provided event and traffic management security for major events such as Tom Jones, Elton John, Lionel Richie, Brian Adams, Paloma Faith, Jessie J, Olly Murs, Tour of Britain, and BBC Proms in the Park at the stadium over the last several years.

“So, when we had the opportunity to become the naming rights sponsor, I could see the benefits for my business and our future development. It felt a natural fit for our business, as our team has been part of the success of the stadium over the last decade.  We can’t wait to make the most of the opportunity and to continue to work in partnership with the stadium’s management team, to do what we can to support its growth over the next few years.

The new branding for Stadiwm CSM will be put in place over the coming weeks, in time for the August concerts: Pete Tong and the symphony orchestra, and Simply Red.

Notes:

CSM Services Group employs over 85 staff and is based in Bodelwyddan and provides services across North/Mid Wales and the North West.

The stadium, which is just one of a number of facilities at Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay, is now known as Stadiwm CSM.
The postal address of the stadium is Stadiwm CSM, EIRIAS, Colwyn Bay, LL29 7SP.

It’s important to note that Parc Eirias hasn’t been renamed - the park, and its facilities and features retain their current identities, including Colwyn Leisure Centre; Eirias High School; James Alexander Barr Tennis Centre.
