Council reassurance over home care

Conwy Council’s Adult Social Care team reassure residents who receive home care services from Allied Healthcare.

This follows concerns made nationally about the company’s financial viability.

Over the last 2 weeks, Conwy’s Adult Social Care team have been in regular contact with the Welsh Government, WLGA and the Care Inspectorate Wales to get a clearer idea of Allied Healthcare’s situation and the potential implications.

Cllr Liz Roberts, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Adult, Community Services and Housing, said: “During this time, we’ve been looking at contingency arrangements and alternative service delivery.  Our priority is the people who rely on vital home care services.

“We have written to the 122 Conwy residents who receive services from Allied, to reassure them that we are working hard to make sure that there is no interruption to the care that they receive.

“We have also set-up a designated phone line 01492 576337 for service users and their families to call if they have any questions or concerns.”
