Council urges local residents to respond to the annual canvass

The Local Government elections in May this year brought many changes to Conwy County Borough Council.

Over half the councillors elected to serve on Conwy County Borough Council are new to the role, and 40% of our councillors are women, double the previous number.

Some of the wards were hard fought, with the winning margin as close as 7 votes in one area.

So, your vote counts.

Household Enquiry Forms have been sent to residents across the county borough, either by email or post (depending on preference selected previously).

The aim is to make sure that the electoral register is up to date; for residents to check whether the information for their address is correct, and if it isn’t, to make any necessary changes so that people don’t lose their right to vote.

Iwan Davies, Returning Officer for Conwy said: “Anyone who wants to vote must be registered. To make sure you are able to have your say at the next election, simply check the form when it arrives; respond as soon as you can, and encourage people you know to do the same.”

If you haven’t done already, then please respond even if there are no changes.  It’s quick and easy to do this online, by phone or by post using the security code provided - full details are on the form.

Anyone who has any questions can contact Conwy's electoral team at or phone 01492 576051/2.
