The Conwy Local Development Plan must be reviewed every four years.
Next week councillors will be asked to give the green light for a public consultation as part of the current review.
The public will be asked to submit their views on the LDP preferred strategy, which includes details of key places; scale of change; sites that are key to delivering the LDP; infrastructure that’s needed; along with information on how the LDP will be implemented and delivered.
If councillors agree, the six week consultation on the preferred strategy will take place this summer.
Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, Conwy’s Cabinet Member responsible for Planning Policy, said, “If you’ve ever wondered how locations for new housing developments and employment sites are selected, here’s an opportunity for you to get involved and contribute your views to influence the future of Conwy.”
“I’d urge local people to get involved and let us know their views on development in the County Borough. This is an important step in providing up-to-date planning policy guidelines for Conwy.”
The final decision on whether to consult will be made by Council on 11 July 2019.
