Llanrwst Family Centre celebrates 20 years
The Llanrwst Family Centre has celebrated its 20th anniversary.
Since opening in 2003, the Centre has supported hundreds of families, run thousands of groups, and linked in with those working with families in the area.
On 22 May, Llanrwst Family Centre celebrated two successful decades as a friendly community team. To mark the special occasion the team celebrated with the community and partner organisations, with fun activities, cake, and a chance to share some memories.
Cllr Liz Roberts, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Safeguarding said: “Many congratulations to all at the Family Centre in Llanrwst - 20 years seems to have flown by.
“The Centre continues to be a most welcoming space offering mothers, fathers, grandparents and carers an opportunity to call in for advice or help, and know they are in a trusted environment.
“All families, no matter who they are, all need some support at some time in their lives. It’s reassuring to hear parents describe the Family Centre as a ‘lifeline’ for them. Why not pop in for a chat, you are always most welcome.”
The Llanrwst Family Centre forms part of Conwy County Borough Council’s network of five teams and centres supporting local residents and it’s a welcoming hub for all the community in the south of Conwy.
Open to all, families can join in with activities, attend courses about family life, or be supported by a Family Worker.
Lots of other services use the Centre to meet with families and offer help – from finances and mental health, to keeping the family safe, making friends, and learning new skills.
The Family Centre team also visit communities in the surrounding areas, and regularly join in with family activities there.
