Moving Llanrwst Library
Llanrwst Library is well used. However the library building is dated, requires investment, and is too small to meet demand.
The unexpected closure of Glasdir Business and Conference Centre in October 2020 has created the opportunity to not only develop the library service but also a community hub for rural Conwy.
Cllr Dr Mark Baker, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Arts, Heritage and Culture said “We propose that the Llanrwst Library moves to the ground floor of Glasdir, developing its existing offer as well as providing additional services and facilities.
“This is a great building to offer the residents of rural Conwy a community hub to access council services and much more closer to home.
“We encourage everyone to look at the concept drawings of how the new library could look. And submit their views on what should be provided in the new library.”
The concept drawings can be seen at www.conwy.gov.uk/llanrwstlibrary and the questionnaire can be completed on the same page. Closing date 28 February 2021. Alternatively, contact Llanrwst Library, 01492 577545 for a paper copy.
The remaining vacant space within Glasdir will be advertised in the coming weeks, interested parties will be able to find the documentation at www.conwy.gov.uk/estates
