National Safeguarding Week

12-16 November is National Safeguarding Week, with organisations across Wales working to raise the profile of this important national issue.

Conwy County Borough Council is supporting the event and is spreading the word amongst staff and councillors across all services to make sure everyone is aware of the signs of a safeguarding issue, their duty to report concerns, and how to report a concern.

Councillor Cheryl Carlisle, Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Safeguarding said:  “The key message this year is Safeguarding is Everybody’s Business. National Safeguarding Week helps us to focus on our commitment to keep children, young people and vulnerable adults safe - it’s a reminder that safeguarding is central and pivotal to everyone's work here in Conwy.”

“We work closely with partner agencies every day, and there’s much to celebrate, but there’s also much to do.  We all have a duty to listen to the voices of the vulnerable, and act on what we hear.”

By working together we really can make a difference.
