National moment of silence to mark one year of Russian invasion of Ukraine

The Government has announced a national one-minute silence on Friday 24 February, at 11am marking a year since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to lead the nation in silence from Downing Street, and the Government is encouraging individuals and organisations across the UK to participate.

Cllr Ifor Glyn Lloyd, Chairman of Conwy County Borough Council, said: “This national moment of reflection will offer the UK public the chance to pay tribute to the courage of the Ukrainian people and demonstrate solidarity with the country. I hope that Conwy residents, whether at home, at work, or with family and friends will join the nation and share in this moment of reflection.”
