T19 Bus Service

We were disappointed to learn from Llew Jones that they had decided to withdraw the T19 bus service.

Conwy County Borough Council does not subsidise this service and therefore has not withdrawn funding – it is a commercial service which the operator has said is no longer viable for them to run. As with all commercial bus services, any such decisions are entirely a matter for private companies.

The Council has a responsibility to learners, and we have contacted students who use the T19 to let them know about the new arrangements we have made so they can get to school or college.

We are continuing to work with Transport for Wales to look at options for other passengers, to mitigate the effects of the service being removed.

There are several alternative bus and rail services in the Conwy Valley – more information is available on the TrawsCymru website here: T19 - What are my travel options? - Transport for Wales (traws.cymru)

Concessionary passengers are able to use their travel pass on the Conwy Valley railway line between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Are you eligible for free transport to school or college and currently use the T19 service to get there?
We’ve sent you a letter with details of your new transport arrangements.
Haven’t received your letter? Please email passengertransport@conwy.gov.uk with your full details (including which school or college you attend) and we’ll get back to you with information.
