Tenant chosen for Culture Centre Café

Conwy County Borough Council is pleased to announce that the lease for the café at the new Culture Centre has been awarded to Deli Catering Ltd.

The Culture Centre, which is currently under construction on the corner of Town Ditch Road and Bangor Road in Conwy town, will feature a library, archive, heritage and arts hub, and the café.

Deli Catering Ltd is Bethan Rogerson and Sally Williams. Together they bring more than fifteen years of experience; specialising in home baking, using local produce, and creating healthy, child and family friendly food.

Due to open in Autumn 2019, the Culture Centre will tell the story of Conwy County and signpost visitors to the rich culture and heritage of the region.

Cllr Mark Baker, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “We received lots of interest in this new opportunity to run the café at the Culture Centre, with many people attending the drop-in session in November to find out more.
“I’d like to congratulate Deli Catering Ltd on their successful application. This is exactly the kind of business we were looking for to help make the Culture Centre a must-visit destination.”

Bethan and Sally said: “We are hugely excited about this new opportunity and can’t wait to open later this year. The Culture Centre staff are keen to work with us to create a friendly, accessible café - for everyone to enjoy the new centre and its lovely surroundings.”

The Culture Centre is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, Conwy County Borough Council, the Welsh Government (Museums, Archives, Libraries Division), the Welsh Government Rural Communities - Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government, Gwynt y Môr Community Fund in partnership with Conwy Arts Trust, Arts Council Wales, LDT Communities and the Thomas Howell Education Fund for North Wales.
