Traffic Signal Works: Brompton Avenue, A55 Junction 20 (Rhos on Sea/Colwyn Bay West End)
Works starts: Friday 6 March 2020
Works finish: Tuesday 7 April 2020
We’re working with the North & Mid Wales Trunk Road Agency to refurbish the traffic signals and pedestrian crossing at Brompton Avenue (A55 Junction 20).
What is happening?
The traffic signal equipment needs to be refurbished because they are no longer economical to repair. The work will also improve pedestrian crossing facilities, particularly for visually impaired users. There will be temporary traffic lights and pedestrian crossings while the work takes place.
The eastbound slip road off the A55 will be closed overnight from 9.00pm to 5.00am between 14 March and 27 March.
Please follow the diversion via Colwyn Bay or Mochdre.
How will it affect traffic?
We will try to keep delays to a minimum, but expect up to 10 minute delays during peak hours. At times during the work there will be a diversion via Five Ways roundabout for traffic joining the A55 at Junction 20.
How will it affect the buses?
At certain times during the work, there will be a temporary bus stop 65m up the road towards Five Ways roundabout. Buses may be delayed because of diversions.
