Trip down Narrow Lane to view latest housing development

Adra, North Wales’ largest housing association and construction partners Beech Developments welcomed a delegation from Conwy County Borough Council this week to see how the former farm land has been transformed to create a brand new housing development.

Adra have been developing 29 properties on the Cae’r Llynen estate off Narrow Lane, Llandudno Junction. They include 8 two bedroom flats; 15 three bedroom house and 6 two bedroom house.

They will be a mixture of social rent, intermediate rent, rent to own and some will be advertised on the open market.

Hywel Eifion Jones, Chair of Adra, said; “We are proud of the development at Cae’r Llynen and it is such an amazing location, close to the A55 expressway and with commanding views of the Conwy estuary and Conwy Valley.

“We have made a firm commitment in our Corporate Plan to build brand new, high quality homes that people can be proud of. There is clearly a demand in this part of Conwy county for this kind of development and reflects the position in many communities in North Wales.  The development will help meet that demand and we were delighted to be able to take the delegation from Conwy Council around the development, to see at first hand the high quality properties that are on offer”.

Councillor Charlie McCoubrey , Leader of Conwy Council said: “It’s extremely impressive the work that has gone on to provide such quality housing in this part of our county.

“There is so much focus on new properties being more energy efficient and it’s great to see Adra leading the way in terms of making these new properties cleaner and greener in terms of reducing the carbon footprint, whilst saving people money on energy bills at the same time”.

Councillor Emily Owen, Cabinet Lead Member for Housing at Conwy Council, said: “It’s great to see a progressive housing organisation like Adra, working in partnership with Beech Developments to invest in quality housing to meet the demand in Conwy county.  It’s a great place to live and work and this particular site is close to amenities, so we expect there to be a lot of interest in these properties.

“The housing demand issues facing Conwy residents is not unique and developments like this can only contribute positively to the increasing demand for high quality homes. Working together is clearly the way forward to addressing housing issues in North Wales”.
