Notifications for Flood Alleviation Works within Conwy County Borough Council
Notice is hereby given that Conwy County Borough Council intends to undertake flood alleviation works at the locations identified in the below schedule, under Regulation 5(1) of the above regulations, and does not intend to prepare an Environmental Statement as the works are refurbishment of existing structures.

Location/Address: Flood Alleviation Works – Afon Bach, Llansannan
Brief Works Summary: The works involve the construction of a new larger culvert across the A544 at the northern approach to the village. Making channel widening and improvements to the stream through Dalar Bach and in front of Llain Hiraethog. And in Ffordd Gogor to Uwch Yr Aled replace the existing piped culvert with a new larger precast concrete rectangular culvert. Also the existing screen at the downstream end of the A544 culvert will be removed.

The works will provide greater resistance for residents of Llansannan from flooding by allowing storm water to flow freely without obstruction to the Afon Aled.
Representations or objections in respect of the application should be made in writing, giving an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent, to Mr Geraint Edwards, Head of Environment, Roads and Facilities Service, Conway Road, Mochdre, Colwyn Bay, LL28 5AB, within 30 days of the date of this notice quoting the relevant project reference above.
