As the world responds to Coronavirus, I’d like to recognise the tremendous community effort taking place across the whole of our county - from neighbours walking the pets of those self-isolating to the dozens of groups that have established to help with whatever they can. It is great to see everyone rally around to support each other more than ever before.
We are working hard, 24/7, to deal with the rapid changes. I wanted to reassure you, that we have been reallocating staff to work to deliver essential services. These teams of people are out in the community every day delivering essential support to those who need it now, and I want to thank each and every one of them for stepping up during this time.
I am particularly proud of our staff working in close contact services. The work that our Social Care and Education Teams do means social distancing isn’t always possible, yet the people in these essential jobs are continuing to deliver the care our community needs through this health crisis.
Finally, I’d like to highlight that if you are self-isolating and don’t already have a support network in place you can call on us to make sure you get the help that you need. Stay safe and please follow national guidance at all times. We are all in this together.
