The Paediatric First Aid course is primarily designed for those who are responsible for children under the age of 12. The training is 12 hours and meets the requirements needed by CIW for registered settings in Wales.
Following this course you will:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of the Paediatric First Aider.
- Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child.
- Understand how to recognise signs and symptoms, administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness.
- Understand how to recognise signs and symptoms, administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child.
COVID 19 precautions:
- Safely deliver CPR without the need for mouth to mouth resuscitation by using a Bag Valve Mask (BVM)
- Safely DON up and DOFF off PPE.
- Safe disposal of contaminated waste.
