Period Proud Conwy is part of Period Proud Wales, a national strategy to make sure periods are not a barrier to education, health, or dignity.
We aim to:
- Ensure everyone can access free period products when they need them
- Promote open and positive conversations about periods
- Challenge stigma, shame, and misinformation
- Support inclusive education for all genders

Period products are available for anyone who needs them no questions asked. You don’t need to explain or justify.
You can access free products from:
- Schools (ask in the main office, wellbeing team, or student services)
- Libraries, leisure centres, and community centres
- Family centres and youth services
- Food banks and partner community spaces
- CCBC Offices at Coed Pella

Worried about starting your period at school? You’re not alone and we’re here to help.
We’re making sure every school in Conwy has free period products and supportive staff so you can feel confident and comfortable.
Here’s what you can do:
- Ask a trusted adult at school if you need products
- Talk to your teacher or school nurse if you’re in pain or have questions
- Take time to rest if you're not feeling well, it's okay
Free, reusable period products may also be available. Ask your school or youth worker.

We understand that talking about periods can feel awkward, but it doesn’t have to be.
As a parent or carer, you can support your child by:
- Using correct names for body parts
- Staying open, calm, and positive in conversations
- Reassuring them that everyone’s experience is different and valid
- Helping them choose the period products that work best for them
