This awareness session provides an introduction to advocacy in children’s services, with a focus on the statutory duty to ensure children and young people are supported to have their voices heard. The session explores the role of advocacy within social care and highlights the importance of promoting access to advocacy services.

Participants will gain an understanding of the different types of advocacy available, the referral process, and the services delivered by Tros Gynnal Plant (TGP) Cymru. The session will also emphasise the “active offer” and the responsibility of professionals to ensure advocacy is considered and offered appropriately.

This course is designed to raise awareness of advocacy, support professionals to recognise when advocacy is required, and ensure that children and young people are supported to participate in decisions that affect them.

For further information, or if you have booked a place on the course and have not received notification to attend please contact the Workforce Development & Learning Administrative Team.  Please do not turn up to any course unless you have received notification of your place as the event may be fully booked.
