Local residents understand their community best, and they’ll be at the heart of delivering this programme. A new Neighbourhood Board will be established and decide how funding is used, ensuring local people play a central role in shaping the future of the area. The Board will have an Independent Chair.
The Neighbourhood Board will bring together residents, local businesses, grassroots campaigners, workplace representatives, faith, the local MP and community leaders plus those with a deep connection to their area.
By engaging with the wider community, the Neighbourhood Board will develop a shared 10 year vision for the future of the area and outline a clear plan, with support from the local MP and the local authority to deliver the strategic objectives of the programme.
Conwy County Borough Council will act as the accountable body for the funding, with overall responsibility for making sure the public funds are distributed fairly and effectively, and in line with required processes. However, the vision and plan itself will be developed and owned by the community, placing local people firmly in the lead.
