Course details:

Aim: The foster carer will be able to describe how they balance opportunity and safety in relation to the use of digital technologies for the child in placement.

Course aims and objectives:

Learning Outcomes:

  • Increase knowledge of the various ways in which children and young people engage with the virtual world
  • Raise awareness of the benefits and opportunities digital technologies offer to looked after children and young people
  • Explore potential safety issues for looked after children and young people using digital technologies
  • Identify the core skills that foster carers can use to support young people to operate safely in the virtual world
