- Target group: Financial Assessment Officers and Deputies. Internal Adult Social Care staff – social work teams, reablement team, disabilities and vulnerable people teams, Foster Carers
Course aims and objectives
The workshop aims to:
- Ensure a robust understanding of the forms of financial abuse.
- Ensure individual responsibility for decision making in the context of appropriate support.
- When to report a financial abuse concern.
- Understand the legislative context as regards financial abuse and be confident to take appropriate legal and procedural action in all cases.
- Build a consistent approach across the authority in response to financial abuse cases.
- Identify confidence and competence in this area of practice, and additional support needs.
- Develop professional curiosity when dealing with potential financial abuse cases.
